We are seeing a gradual increase in age of the population globally. In geriatrics, frailty attributes a high risk of morbidity to older adults, primarily in the form of disability.

The main objective is to determine the prevalence, clinical, functional and socioeconomic characteristics of frail elderly over 75 years in the Hospital III EsSalud Chimbote between October 2006 and April 2007.
