Andalusia will support two European projects on telemonitoring of patients living with chronic diseases

Researchers from Virgen del Rocio and Puerta del Mar Hospitals in Andalusia have received funding from the Ambient Assisted Living Program of the European Union to participate in projects within the Health at Home initiative.
Researchers at Virgen del Rocio Hospital will be collaborating with peers in Slovenia and Italy, and with private sector partners to develop a telemonitoring system integrated with the electronic health record to improve care of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
At Puerta del Mar Hospital, researchers will join forces with academic colleagues in Germany, Greece and with private sector companies as part of the AMICA initiative, which seeks to develop early detection systems to exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
