This practice is a socio-health network for non-professional caretakers in the home. This initiative is supported by the Institute of Innovation for the Citizen’s Welfare in collaboration with the University of Malaga. “Caretaker network” is an innovative open source web 2.0 project. Its purpose is to improve the quality of life of caretakers and promote information sharing.
- Goals Prevention:
- Funding for detection programs , Creates healthy environments , Promotes health and wellbeing in schools and early years , Promotes adecuate understanding levels on the community about the importance of prevention , Focuses on social inequalities
- Goals Detection:
- Advances public education on the importance of early detection , Shows new evidence on the importance of early detection, including guidelines of effective practices , Provides registries and patients contact systems , Promotes early intervention through primary health care measures
- Goals Treatment:
- Promotes the appropriate use of medicines , Promotes the training of health professionals , Emphasizes the care of pluri-pathological and fragile patients , Promotes electronic health information systems to improve the quality of care
- Goals self-management:
- Refocuses the health system to support self-management , Promotes patient involvement in planning services , Improving support services with an emphasis on peer support, the disabled and carers , Allows home care , Allows remote support to patients and their carers from health professionals

Dado que en la actualidad existen un gran número de recursos disponibles a través de diferentes medios, instituciones y personas; mucha veces la dificultad para los destinarios últimos de los mismos está precisamente en localizarlos de forma rápida y ajustada a sus necesidades. Por ello, uno de los principales elementos de la Plataforma Multicanal para el Cuidador, debe ser precisamente el de coordinación, involucrando activamente a los diferentes agentes e instituciones que pueden aportar recursos de apoyo para los cuidadores y los familiares a su cargo.
Para conseguir el objetivo principal de esta iniciativa, se define el siguiente marco general de actuación, que incluye el abordaje por proyectos independientes a realizar por diferentes agentes, pero relacionados en el objetivo general:
- Catálogo de recursos
- Plataforma tecnológica
- Centro de conexión de recursos
- Red de apoyo
De acuerdo con los requerimientos necesarios para la realización del proyecto Cuidatel el enfoque metodológico correspondiente al planteamiento general del proyecto se organiza de acuerdo con el siguiente esquema general:
